Squadron Sergeant Major (SSM)

Domestic considerations:
Up to 37 RSDs per year.  Additional days available by application. Occasional visits to other units and locations in support of Squadron activity and relevant meetings. Evening and weekend working will be required. 

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that the Values and Standards of the British Army are communicated and maintained within the Squadron.

2. Support the Squadron Commander in the delivery of Squadron objectives.

3. Observe that all Squadron training and development is correctly structured and delivered in accordance with

Regimental policy and direction.

4. Support the Squadron 2IC in all G1, G4 and G7 matters and be prepared to deputise as required.

5. Monitor and maintain standards of discipline and dress of all Squadron members, both in barracks and in the field.

6. Assist the PSAO on all security issues including armoury and barracks checks.

7. Manage and supervise the military training requirements and standards of all squadron personnel

8. Advise squadron OC and Ops team on defence needs of deployed ICS sites

9. Ensure all Regimental policy is fully implemented, including the CO's Physical Development Policy.
