Domestic considerations. Post is located within the Land Operations Command at Fd Army HQ Andover.
Travel Incumbant will be required to conduct assurance visits to exercise locations within the UK and overseas if required.
Unit Role:  The Field Army commands the Army’s Fielded capabilities; prepares and generates forces at readiness to meet commitments for contingencies and persistent engagement overseas. It is responsible for tactical doctrine, lessons learned, experimentation and collective training.
Position Role: Coord Fd Army LOC operational risk management process to support deployed FEs, OTs and COS Fd Army and enable Fd Army operational decision making.
Responsibilities:
1. Coord management of Fd Army Operational Risk Register with the Operational Teams (OTs) in accordance with SOIs.
2. Provide operational risk input to Fd Army battle rhythm to inform operational decision making by DACOS Ops.
3. As required, liaise with PJHQ Risk Manager and DACOS J3 Ops Sp staff.
4. Provide D&G to OTs and Op Theatres on Operational Risk articulation and subsequent risk management plans.
5. Issue Fd Army operational risk management direction on behalf of DACOS Operate and SO1 FP & C-CBRN.
6. Provide headline input to CFA’s submission for the Army Quarterly Performance and Risk Reporting (QPRR).
7. Assist in production of CFA’s Directive on Operational Risk Management.
Management of Risk (MoR) - Cabinet Office approved Management of Risk Course; within 6 months of assuming post.

NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety - to be compelted within 12 months of assuming post.

Level 6 Deploma in Health and Safety -  to be compelted within 36 months of assuming post.
ICSC(L)

Staff experience ideally at either Fd Army / Army HQ or Fmn level to be able to provide coherent Field Army perspective into the 4* HQ and Def.

Post suits a candidate capable of understanding how individual, acute risks across the entire Land environment can compound into strategic risk capable of preventing the Fd Army from achieving it’s mission and tasks. The incumbent must be comfortable in rapidly assimilating a working knowledge of unfamiliar parts of the organisation IOT understand a wide range of risks and subsequently identifying linkages/trends between them.
