Position Role: The ROSO is responsible for advising and managing the requirement to identify internal and external best practice for recruitment, retention, employer support and welfare and facilitate its implementation across the unit. Responsibilities: 1. The delivery of all aspects of soldier recruiting across the Bn by employing internal and external best practice in close liaison with 20X and RPOC’s. 2. Plan, manage, deliver and report on the Unit Recruiting Plan, identifying and exploiting Regional recruiting stakeholders. 3. Directing and training the Company Reserve Mentoring Support Officers (ReMSO’s), ensuring that they are operating correctly by routine assurance and are adequately resourced. 4. Manage and co-ord Battalion Outreach and Community Engagement activity. 5. Manage the Battalion Recruit application and Trg pipeline process in order to achieve a measurable output in line with the CO’s Recruitment and Retention Plan. 6. Support Officer Commanding Recruit Retention & Mentoring Team in planning and delivery of Phase 1 & 2 pre course training. 7. Management and procurement of all Recruiting equipment, marketing and merchandise. 8. ARRAT assurance and conformance compliance. 9. Assistant Unit Diversity and Inclusion Officer and Life Skills Officer. 10. Act as Unit Employment Support Officer in providing mobilisation process advice, non legal advice to soldiers and Employers on employment legislation and MOD financial support available relating to mobilisation in liaison with local Regional Employer Engagement Directors. 11. Act as Unit Welfare Officer for soldiers and the families of mobilised soldiers pre, during and post Operations. 12. Act as Unit Welfare Officer, deliver specialist advice to sub unit commanders and Admin Officers for Non Op welfare support. 13. Act as 1st line Individual Education and Resettlement Briefing Officer. 14. Leading on and acting as the Unit Personnel Recovery Duty officer (WISMIS) and VRMIS as the unit lead. Must be prepared to travel widely and work at weekends and in the evenings. Carry out other activities as directed by the CoC. |
