Vacancy detail

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as HQ RC Sy Branch COS and provide oversight, co-ordination and direction for Firm Base security.
  2. Deputise for SO1 Sy. Principal staff officer within RC Sy branch with line manager responsibilities for SO3 Phy Sy and four MPGS Area WOs.
  3. Influence and coordinate security input for the Regional Command Comd Plans, Directives and Orders.
  4. Monitor Counter Intelligence issues in the UK Firm Base. Manage and control the cascade of threat info in the UK and overseas Garrisons.
  5. Manage, improve and oversee Information Assurance and Data Protection within HQ RC chain of command.
  6. Monitor and assist in the maintenance of Firm Base physical security infrastructure and guarding requirements.
  7. Support Army HQ/HQ HC in the production of Sy policy for the Army.
  8. Other security duties as directed by SO1 Sy.

ICSC(R)

Capable operator wishing to develop and stretch abilities in a 2* HQ.

Incumbent must be able to apply initiative and apply innovative thought process.

Int Corps, or Combat Arm desirable

The next decade will see significant technological and digital advancement within the security environment.  This post must be filled by an energetic, divergent thinker, who is able to interpret and deliver top down policy whilst being able to identify and brief 2, 3 and 4* security matters accordingly.

The post sits within the Regional Command Security and Guarding Branch. The Security and Guarding Branch role is to provide security advice and support to the wider security community. The team consists of both Military and Civilian personnel that specialise in Information assurance, security risk management, physical security and guarding. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work within an evolving department that is at the heart of reducing the cyber and security threat posed to people and assets within the Firm Base.

Domestic Considerations: Regular travel to Andover. Routine travel across the UK on assurance visits. Travel and up to 35 days separated service per year is a requirement of this post.
