To deploy and operate monitoring equipment as tasked to assist Defence in understanding its global use of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) and be the senior Defence military spectrum monitoring SME providing advice on the application of spectrum monitoring to the DEMA C1 Monitoring Lead Engineer, DEMA EM Management Assistant Head, wider DD and Defence.
Responsibilities include:
Audit and assure Defence access to the EMS and provide monitoring SME guidance to DEMA C1 Monitoring Lead Engineer, DEMA EM Management B2 Assistant Head, wider DD and customers across Defence.
IAW tasking, confirm requirement, plan, then deploy monitoring equipment and recover once tasking is complete.
Analyse and interpret readings and record findings in the appropriate user defined format.
Contribute to the interoperability and improvement of EMS tools through proactive system management and set requirements for improvements in accordance with the principles of agile project delivery.
Cover role of the DEMA Monitoring Lead Engineer and manage tasking and projects as required.
Assist in identifying sources of interference contributing to reported MOD frequency interference incidents and co-ordinate activity with Ofcom as required.
Deliver DEMA Monitoring SME support to wider MOD training systems on EMS related topics.
Assist with Joint exercise programme Cyber and Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA) planning and provide support to CEMA EXCON as the EMS monitoring SME.
Conduct assurance of spectrum utilisation to support EM Management and wider spectrum management team.
Assist and support DEMA EM Management, Military Ops Team as required.
Must be an OR7 Cyber/RSIGS/RN Warfare GS CIS specialisation. OR6 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent SJAR will be considered.
OR8 & 9 applicants, if successful, will only be paid as and wear the rank of OR7.
Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.
