The Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT) is a key organisation within the UK Armed Forces, responsible for delivering world-class technical training to personnel across the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force. Based at Headquarters (HQ) Lyneham, DCTT oversees a network of component schools, ensuring the delivery of high-quality training that supports operational capability and strategic objectives.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive and analytically strong individual who can effectively oversee the HQ's risk management database, provide sound policy advice, and coordinate governance activity across a multi-stakeholder environment. The ideal candidate will be a clear communicator with strong initiative, capable of working independently to deliver accurate outputs, brief senior leaders, and deputise for the Line Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the risk database for HQ DCTT and Schools
- Advise on risk management policy
- Act as secretary to the DCTT Risk working group, recording decisions and following up actions
- Collate and administer the quarterly Performance & Risk Management Information System (PARMIS) return.
- Manage DCTT’s performance reporting to enable consistent, coherent input to meetings and performance reports
- Responsible for organizing the quarterly DCTT College Management Board, overseeing the timely planning and sequential delivery of this governance meeting.
- Deputise for SO2 Plans where required.

- Relevant experience of working in a senior management environment and supporting decision-making processes.
- Key skills: coordination, initiative, written and verbal communication, analytical ability
- Other requirements: mandatory training to be conducted on arrival

- Any additional leadership training where required
Salary & benefits
- Salary: £50,176– £59,471 per year.
- Pension: automatic enrolment in the non-contributory Armed Forces Pension Scheme 2015 (optout available).
- Leave: 30 days’ annual leave plus eight UK bank holidays.
