Unit Role: 3 R WELSH is the only Army Reserve (AR) Infantry battalion based in Wales, reporting to 12th Armoured Brigade within the 3rd UK Division. The Battalion Headquarters is based in Cardiff with company locations in Swansea, Pontypridd, Cardiff, Colwyn Bay, and Wrexham, and platoon outstations in Aberystwyth and Bangor.
Position Role: Regimental Operational Support Officer (ROSO), 3 R WELSH.
Deliver a modern, effective, inclusive Recruiting process to attract, recruit and nurture Army Reserve applicants and support whole force recruiting activity. Provide engagement effect, advice and support to the CoC. Deliver 1st line welfare support to the unit and their families. Coordinate and cohere Army Reserve mobilisation activity, providing support to the chain of command, soldiers, families and employers as required.
Responsibilities: 1. Plan, write and deliver the Unit Recruiting Directive, act as the Unit SME for all recruiting and retention matters, providing advice, guidance and assurance to the CofC as necessary. 2. Assure the unit recruiting and selection processes and provide support to the assurance to the supervisory care and safeguarding policies for the unit’s recruits. 3. Be proficient and manage multiple internal and external IT software applications, including Office 360 and unit social media, to exploit data, manage, and support recruitment efforts unit wide. 4. Provide stakeholder and gatekeeper engagement effect on behalf of the unit, conducting outreach activity as required in collaboration with higher formation headquarters. 5. Act as interface between employer and reservist, providing policy D&G on contracts, entitlements and mobilisation. 6. Manage any unit welfare issues, including liaison with outside agencies, leading on WISMIS/ VRMIS as directed by CofC. 7. Lead for unit mobilisation pre deployment through to recovery. Coordination of Welfare Services in support of soldiers, family and employers during and post mobilisation. 8. Carry out other activities; as directed by the CofC. |
