Vacancy detail

Subject to formal establishment, a vacancy will arise for a OF4 to serve as jHub Chief of Staff Enablement  at DJW JHUB Northwood on FTRS Home Commitment Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS), with an initial proposed start date of 01 Jun 22.

Unit & Position Role

Unit Function

UKStratCom’s innovation team, the jHub, connects world-class technologies and talents to military and civilian users, and champions innovation across the command.  Championed at the highest level, it runs pilots and supports projects through the ‘valley of death’ using streamlined, agile processes.

Position Role

The jHub COS Enablement is accountable the Innovation SRO, via Hd jHub, for the availability and effective use and tasking of the innovation specialist roles provided to it by UKStratCom.

Responsibilities

1.  Lead on the day-to-day operations of UKStratCom’s innovation specialists (i.e., the Business mgmt., Comms, Comrcl, Digital, HR, Finance, Integration, and Office mgmt).

2.  Maximise opportunities with industry, academia, Defence, and partners across government to peer review processes and products to generate ideas, connections, and solutions.

3.  Maximise the mutual benefit of working in and with JW, JFD, UKStratCom and Defence.

4.  Organise and manage a termly 4* Innovation Sub-Committee for UKStratCom’s Innovation Senior Responsible Owner (DJW).

5.  Oversee the UKStratCom’s internal and external communications on innovation.

6. Administer, support, and manage inward tri-Service loans and secondments to UKStratCom’s innovation enterprise.

7.  Develop, deliver, and manage the Innovation Fellowship Scheme for tri-Service SO2 opportunities in UKStratCom’s innovation hub.

8.  Sponsor, support and develop inward loan officers to UKStratCom from DASA, DES FCG, and NSSIF, etc.

Must be an OF4 of any specialisation. OF3 applicants with a recommend for the next higher rank in their most recent OJAR could be considered.

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Based at Northwood HQ, there are regular visits to the jHub collaboration space (currently in Holborn) and a reasonable amount of travel within the UK will be required.
