Vacancy detail

  1. Advise on the admissibility of SCs and the appropriate Deciding Bodies (DBs), and subsequently oversee the production, redaction and distribution of formal Admissibility Decision and DB Appointment Letters.
  2. Liaison with SO2 Legal, SO1 Fast track, SO1 SC APC and OIC SCIT to inform the advice to SO1 Ops over Admissibility and at DLAB, including availability and suitability of the use of in-house Investigation, VERR DB and APC capability.
  3. Advise/discuss with Specified Officers (SOs) and DBs the possibilities of informal resolution including the use of the Army Mediation Service.
  4. Advise 1*/2* HA staff, as well as units, on actual and potential complaints, best practice, and procedures.
  5. Joint lead SO2 responsible for oversight of the SC end to end process for all formal complaints IAW JSP 831 and 763.
  6. Recommend the tasking of the Service Complaint Investigations Team (SCIT) to appropriate investigations.
  7. Deliver SC presentations to key command/career courses as required, and any other secondary duties or tasks as directed by SO1 Ops or the SC Secretary.
  8. Line Manage/Reporting Officer to 1 x D civilian.

- Attention to detail and the requirement for accuracy in their work as mistakes can have a disproportionate effect elsewhere in the Service Complaint process.

- Compassionate understanding of the nature of the work and the impact of undue delay in the process.
