Vacancy detail

To manage and, where appropriate, implement Army Climate Assessment and Diversity and Inclusion policy across the 1 (UK) Division command as directed by SO1 Pers, HQ 1 (UK) Division, and support Pers Branch in its outputs. 

1. Lead on implementation of and compliance with Army Climate Assessment (CA) policy across 1 (UK) Division.
2. Co-ordinate completion of electronic Level 1 CA and Level 2 CA in accordance with policy as required.
3. Review 1 (UK) Divisional unit and Bde HQ CA reports and action plans and staff to GOC as required.
4. Liaise with relevant staff branches where issues/trends are identified whilst maintaining an electronic record of CA's conducted on 1 (UK) Div units and Bdes HQ's.  
5. Assist in conducting Lvl 2 CA's on 1UKXX Bdes and units either as a team member or team leader, therefore out of the office at least 2 days a month.
6. During the Annual Assurance Estimate (AAE) and Demand Signal process provide guidance and assurance to the GOC that CAs are being requested in line with the CA policy.
7. Assist ACAsS to trawl, coordinate and prioritise 1 (UK) Div nominations for the CA Facilitation (Team Member) Trg and Team Leader Briefing Sessions.
8.   Be the 1 (UK) Div focal point for all matters D&I and link between the Fd Army HQ D&I team, D&I networks,
subordinate fmns and into D& I(Advisors) in units.
9. Proactively support the professionalisation of Army D&I(A), support and assure the informal resolution process and
recording across the formation in line with JSP 763.
10. Inspire improved in-unit D&I training by assuring and advising instructors.
11. Identify best practice D&I and behaviours training, drive continual learning and deliver persistent D&I engagement.
12. Support SO2 Pers (A) and DCOS with monthly updates, with analysis on retention and deployability, attend Pers and other Mtgs.
13. Cover SO2 Pers (A) during absence, and represent SO1 Pers as required.

Pers - Previous G1 Experience is vital.

Normal working environment.  This will normally be at the duty station but will require biannual visits to HQ Fd Army and Ad-hoc visits to Bde HQ's.  There will also be a requirement to carry out G1 duties as G1 duty Officer.  Once the individual has completed the CA trg listed in this JS they will be required to support CA's within 1XX Bde's/Units.  Due to the travel distances involved, the incumbent will incur unavoidable separated service (SS) in the form of nights out of bed (NOOB) as follows:

Climate Assessments – up to 16 days per year across the Divisional AOR depending on requirement.
Visits to Bde HQ locations – up to 8 days per year
Attendance at external meetings – up to 4 days per year (e.g. Fd Army Climate Assessment WG, FA Cultural WG etc).

NOOB is expected with a limited liability for role related compulsory SS in the UK and overseas (included operational theatres) for up to 35 days with no single period of separated service to last in excess of 21 days.  Any SS in excess of 35 days per year is not compulsory and is only accepted on a voluntary basis. 

This staff officer requires a high emotional intelligence and must have the requisite experience to understand both the unit and formation HQ perspective. The individual should be passionate about improving inclusion within the Army
