Unit Function

To deliver world-class education and training to leaders in order to develop the intellectual edge needed for success on operations and leadership in government.

Position Role

To support the transformation of DTUS to the DSUS Scheme and deliver the Default Event Recovery Project

Responsibilities

  • Military representative and SME responsible for the development of the Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship (DSUS) Scheme to achieve FOC.  Includes being the Def Ac military representative at single Service meetings and negotiating the operating framework of the Scheme with them.  
  • Support DSUS Scheme project work.
  • Support the development and delivery of Exercise BRUNEL, including the generation of DSAT complaint documentation, to ensure that it is sustainable as part of the Def Ac support the DSUS Scheme delivery. 
  • Lead for the management of the Default Event Recovery project (the reimbursement of up to £2M of payments to past parents/guardians of students who have departed the Scheme over the last 15 yrs).
  • Lead for legacy Defence Sixth Form College Welbeck issues including the management of the Welbeck archive.
  • Support the closure of the Defence Technical Undergraduate Scheme. 
  • Freedom of Information point of contact.
  • STEM Undergraduate Group risk manager. 
  • SC Security Clearance
  • Risk and programme management
  • Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

Please note- If applying for post of a higher rank than currently or previously held then a promotion eligibility report for substantive rank must be included.

Domestic

National travel will be required to represent the Defence Academy at meetings with each of the Armed Services and to support closure and risk management activities within the DTUS Squadrons.
