Vacancy detail

Responsibilities:

1. Provide and promote high standards of evidence-based care and documentation for all patients admitted to ICW, whilst working within your scope of practice.

2. Maintain effective communication with patients, colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team.  

3. Be conversant with all aspects of Healthcare Governance including risk management, infection prevention and control plus health and safety.

4. Be conversant with the actions required in the event of a cardiac arrest, major incident, fire, and evacuation.

5. Take responsibility for own professional development and undertake training to meet the demands of the role.

6. Act as a link nurse in nominated areas. If nominated Apheresis lead refer to separate TORs.

7. Assist with daily equipment care checks and report equipment failures as per the Equipment Care Directive.

8. Ensure that resources are used appropriately and liaise with the ICW stores co-ordinator to ensure stock levels are replenished in a timely fashion.

Applicants in this category will be submitted to an AMS Transfer Board, delivered by HQ AMS Reserves on behalf of the AMS Workforce Policy team.

Any non AMS cap-badged SP who is a trained nurse in their civilian employment can request to transfer, following the same process as described above.  Those SP will be required to attend a Soldier Selection Board at HQ AMS Reserves. Information for this board will be communicated closer to the time.

Non serving SP who are a qualified civilian nurse are also welcome to apply however, they must do so via a different route. They must first apply to join the Army Reserve. SP should ideally be located in the Midlands.  Following the IR Structure review (Post Aug 22), Training and Admin Centres will be available in the following locations for personnel to train locally:

Stoke on Trent, Shrewsbury, Abingdon, Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham
