Vacancy detail

JW Ex Observation and PXR Lead is required to generate thematic, evidence-based insights from observations during collective training through repeated and episodic engagement with the Defence Exercise programme on behalf of DJW.  Continuity of observation and reporting across all defence level exercises which JW deliver is essential in order to generate objective root analysis of the underlying factors for training audience and capability performance that informs Joint Force Development Balance of Investment decisions and the management of joint operational risks. Reports are to be regularly submitted to the Joint Warfare Development Board and may also be used as the basis for formal third-party assurance audits of Joint Force Headquarters by Joint Warfare.  The post is suitable for a Reserve Officer who can commit to continuity in post across an annual Defence Exercise programme of four major exercises annually. The primary purpose of JW Ex Observation and PXR Lead is to provide Dir JW with independent assurance that all JW exercises have robust aims and objectives, are designed to deliver against those aims and objectives and that observations on training audience performance and exercise delivery are captured, conclusions drawn and recommendations made to support subsequent Joint Warfare development balance of investment decisions. The secondary purpose is to engage with the exercise design team; to be a focal point for external observers, to lead the writing of the PXR and capture of observations, to advise Dir JW on lessons identified and associated recommendations, to contribute to the smooth running of the EXCON function, to supply written evidence in the form of PXRs to support Joint Warfare Development Board analysis. This role is open to VeRR/ADC/RSD. 120 RSDs days per annum plus leave/bank holidays depending on Terms and conditions of Service.
