Unit Function    

To maximise Defence’s ability to meet the challenges of future operations by bringing science and technology to life through education and training.
Position Role    

Lead, supervise, and manage the DCA Cyber Support Team in their role providing technical IT support to the DCA.
                    
Responsibilities

1. Supervise the DCA Cyber Support Team; a mixed military, civil servant and contractor team providing technical IT support to the DCA.
2. Coordinate on-premises and cloud resources to support the course timetable and external events, including infrastructure, networks, and room reconfiguration.
3. Ensure the overall security of the network, including maintenance of configuration control and security accreditation.
4. Develop and maintain technical and process documentation to support the DCA technical infrastructure.
5. Deputise for and assist C2 Projects with the technical change process and running the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
6. Ensure the overall safety of the DCA network and associated equipment, including compliance with statutory requirements.
7. Assess technical impact of external requests for support.
8. Undertake all mandatory training, including SHEF, D&I, and the DefAc Induction Programme as required and also maintain currency in all these competencies.

Must be an OR 7 or OR8 of any specialisation.  

Must be serving as a member of the Reserve Forces or have served with the Regular Forces.

  1. Technical background in a network or operating system administration         
  2. Teamwork and collaboration - work collaboratively across the DCA, DefAc and PAG to achieve desired outcomes.              
  3. Leadership - Set and communicate clear objectives for the DCA Support Team.
  4. Delivering Results - Manage IT Infrastructure and resources to meet DCA teaching and external event demands.      
  5.  Adaptability and Initiative - Respond effectively to changes in the technical environment and DCA teaching and event demands.                                                                                                                                 



     
1. Any combination of CIDA, IT Service Management, First-line linux and windows administration, networking, or cloud (AWS preferred) qualifications or competencies are desirable.
2. Previous experience in a cyber role is desirable.

This position is a 'hands on' technical IT manager type role, and previous technical experience is highly desirable.
