Responsibilities:
- Direction, delivery and assurance of the Army's Service Complaints process as required by Statute.
- Appointment of Decision and Appeal Bodies through a personal delegation of authority by the Defence Council.
- Engagement with Army Board members and the Army 1*/2*/3* community, in order to deliver statutory requirements within designated time limits.
- Maintain close liaison with the Service Complaints Ombudsman, support investigations and where appropriate action Ombudsman recommendations.
- Implement SC Reform and continue to contribute to development and validation of tri-Service policy on Service Complaints.
- Assist APC Litigation with the defence of ET applications regarding Service Complaints.
- Act as the MOD Client in Judicial Review proceedings resulting from Service Complaints.
8. Provide pan Army Service Complaints advice, casework management, education and assurance to commanders and staff from 4* to unit level.
Experience at OF5 in Army, MoD or NATO essential. OF6 desirable given interaction level.
