Qualifications:1. Support the UOTC Coy Commander in the; co-ordination, monitoring and validation of all training, in particular the effective and efficient use of training resources, as laid down in the RMAS and CO's Directive.
2. Musical & Leadership training of OCdts within the Drums & Pipes. Drum Major to be in charge of Drums and Pipes when on parade.  Plan and deliver the support to Army in Scotland and Community Engagement. Responsible for the provision of musical and ceremonial support to the OTR CE and DE outputs through the use of the unit Drums & Pipes. This includes selection, arrangement and tuition of music.
3. Assist in planning, co-ordination and monitoring of the RMAS training, especially RMAS modular training and summative assessments. Provide remedial training lessons for those requiring extra tuition.
4. Administration and Organisation of all events undertaken by the Drums & Pipes and its personnel, including for combined UOTC events. Liaise with the Army School of Bagpipe Music & Highland Drumming to ensure access to the best opportunities and training for the OCdts in the Drums & Pipes.
5. Develop, inspire and instil an ethos, culture and awareness of Values Based Leadership (VBL) that OCdts should aspire to a Reserve or Regular Army Commission. Help develop and mentor Drums and Pipes JUO or OCdt Drum Major (if appointed).
6. Eqpt and Dress: Maintenance of a store of musical instruments and consumables. Manage Drums and Pipes ceremonial uniforms and equipment, and be responsible for the appearance of band members. In conjunction with the Pipe Major ensure the nominated OCdt lead drummer maintains the drum corps' musical ability. Instruct OCdts in the care, maintenance and correct wearing of uniform to the OCdts within the Drums & Pipes.
7. Maintenance of the heritage and history of Aberdeen and Tayforth UOTCs. Encourage and undertake military syllabus training for the Drums and Pipes in conjunction with unit led training.
8. Other duties as directed by the UOTC OC
