Vacancy detail
The post has responsibility to plan, deliver and manage all DALSC sponsored training courses for Defence Attachés, British Defence Staff Personnel, Defence Section Support Staff; and in due course for Loan Service personnel as well.
The SO2 DA Trg has specific responsibility to:
1. Plan, manage and assure DALSC run Foundation and Consolidation Studies
2. Maintain the currency and relevance of both Foundation and Consolidation Studies
3. Lead for DSAT compliance, where appropriate for DALSC courses
4. Confirm customer requirement, draft Statement of Training Task and monitor performance
5. Identify appropriate external speakers for courses and ensure delivery is compliant.
6. Develop effective working relations with MOD, FCDO and other PAG
7. Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and accessibility of learning and course delivery especially in the digital space
8. 1RO for 2 x D Band DALSC Civil Servants: SO3 Resource Plans (RP) and SO3 Trg Coord.

Previous experience of working in the MOD within an International Policy & Strategy (IPS) Team or in the Corporate Policy for DAs and Loan Service team (or their preceding organisations) would be sought after in order to contextualise the training required within the MOD.
Previous experience of working with other Government Departments would be desirable.
Working knowledge of the Defence Learning Environment (DLE) would be a desirable.

The DALSC trains, administers and deploys Defence Attachés (DA), British Defence Staff, Defence Section Support Staff and Loan Service personnel, in order to ensure they make the most effective Defence Engagement contribution possible in the deployed global network
Salary range £47-56K dependant on background
